Most of the time I don’t feel sorry for myself for having this condition (Mostly after scratching my cornea and barely seeing anything!).

However, sometimes I wish I could peek into “the real world”, just to feel the difference… Last week we went to see the blossoming flowers up at the West Coast (South Africa). There were fields and fields of flowers. It was spectacular for the whole family - except for me… I could only see rugs of white. It could have been snow or even just white plastic. I could not see the shape of them or even the different colours of the other flowers that were in between… THEN I felt sad that I couldn’t appreciate this beauty.

Luckily it is only flowers. It might sound corny, but, the most important thing is that I can appreciate the inner beauty of my family and friends…
